Fun few days
Jesse and Alisha came to visit for a few days. I am now covered in bruises. I tried to stand on the bed portion of a hide a bed in order to turn my clock off. My foot slipped off the edge and I had the clock in my hand. I was not going to let anything happen to that clock. My one leg went through the material on the bed frame and I tipped over backwards. I killed my leg, my shoulder, and was crying but my clock was fine. It's a good thing that I was able to hobble up to bed by myself because no one even heard me. I also went sledding with Savannah. She was on the front and I was on the back. We got going really fast and the the boogie board went over a big bump. My poor rear end came down hard. I think that I have either bruised or broken my tail bone. Boy does it hurt. You would think that someone my age wouldn't still be doing crazy things but not me. I have had a horrible cold and have missed two days of work. I am starting to feel a little better but I keep doing dumb things like going dog sledding with Amy and now sledding with Savannah. I think that we will be heading out for Arizona on Thursday. I hope that the weather holds.

Annoying
So far this week I was almost killed at least four times. Driving on snowy roads is always scary. I had one lady making a right turn and almost slid into my car. I went to turn left and my car spun in the intersection and almost went up on the island. I had a truck decide to pull out in front of me and went skidding trying to stop. I had a lady make a U turn at a light and almost hit me and honked at me. Luckily I was all right. Last night we went to fast food place. I said that hubby had to fix dinner and that's where we ended up, after having to have our garage door replaced. We still don't know if that is fixed. At a fast food place I ordered a small chili. They said that they only had large chili. Somehow that didn't make sense to me. If they had large chili then they should have small chili, right? They said that they had a recall on all their small chili cups. Has anyone heard of that? I asked if they could put the small amount of chili in a large size container. They couldn't do that. This is the same place that charge me separate prices for every item in a combo. This was more than the $2.99 charge for the combo. I questioned them on it and the manager said that they had to because the price of beef had gone up. I argued because it had it listed on the menu for $2.99. Then he told me that he couldn't change the menu because it would take four hours. I walked out shaking my head. This is also the place that I gave a clerk and $20.00 bill. I realized that I had the exact change so gave him that instead. He took my $20.00 and stuffed it under the counter. I had to ask him for it back and he said he was sorry and forgot. I really wondered. I think that I keep going back there just to see what will happen next. This only goes to show that I eat out way too much.

Christmas
As I was out shopping and going crazy trying to get ready for Christmas, I stopped and thought. Why do we go through all this trouble for one holiday? The thought that occurred to me was this. We go to all this trouble because for one day we can give of ourselves to others. For one day we can strive to bring smiles to those we love and care about. For one day we can stop and remember our savior Jesus Christ. I pray that we will always refer to this special holiday as Christmas. It is so important that we try to live the spirit of Christmas everyday. It is important that we take time out of our busy lives to stop and think of others. It is exciting to me to think that for this one day we all share something very special. That special something is Christmas and the spirit that goes with it.
Another New Year
It has been quite a while since I have posted anything. New Year's Day always makes me reflect on the past year. We moved our daughter and her family to Arizona. We came home on slick roads and fog. We had a new grandson. Boy can he smile. I now have another grand dog. I visited Arizona and was sleeping on the couch. My grand daughter thought I was a burglar or a ghost. Work is pretty much the same. So far over the Christmas holiday and a little before I managed to have a shiner or black eye. Keva and I hit heads. I fell while using the snow blower and bruised by hand. I slipped on the ice on the porch and bruised my leg. I am still wrestling with my gum graph. A two week ordeal turned into four months. I can't count how many Dr. Pepper's I've drank. I have gained and lost the same three pounds over and over for six months. Thank heavens for stretch denim or I would have nothing to wear. I have spent more time with my sisters and my brother. I now have a camper and a trailer and two basketball standards, a utility trailer and now a car parked in my front yard. I have been pretty good about going to church. I have had only one nervous break down. My house is still not painted and I haven't made my curtains for my kitchen yet. I can't count how many times I have walked in the evening. I was a palm reading gypsy for Halloween. Boy that really scared me when one of the students I read their palm and they didn't have a heart line. I was beginning to think there was something to this. I have tried to laugh more and worry less. Another New Year's resolution for this year as well. All in all it has been a good year. The best thing of all is the fact that I have many wonderful people in my life. Thanks everyone for being there for me. Happy New Year. This is going to be the best year ever. I know because I can read palms (Ha! Ha!)

Can you believe it?
I went to the credit union to withdraw some money. There were four cars by the window and about three cars at the third tube stall. There was no one in the second stall so of course I pulled right up there. I put my card in the tube and sent it on its way. I waited and waited but nothing happened. I looked up and there was a girl explaining to me that my card in the tube was stuck and that the clerk at the window couldn't talk to me because of it. I had to go into the building. They promised that they would shred my card and they gave me a new one. Only me.
Only Me
I went shopping with my sister last week and bought an exercise top at a store in a city where I didn't live. My sister and I both purchased one. I paid $5.99 for the top. I decided that it was too big and I wanted a smaller size. This should be easy, right. Well here goes. I took my pink, too large, top to the the same store only in a different city. I waited at the service desk at this store for the clerk (only one clerk) to help two others in front of me. I explained that I just wanted to exchange the top for a different size. I looked and found the top I wanted. Of course they didn't have a pink one only green in the size I wanted. I went back over to the service desk. There was a lady in front of me who had bought her I don't know fifteen grandchildren pajamas and got all the wrong sizes. Needless to say she had to return all of those, purchase all new ones, have her receipt stapled, etc. etc. It was a long wait. As I got up to the clerk I noticed that the price of the exchange shirt was for $8.99. I showed it to the clerk and he said that I would have to pay the higher price. Being the polite, nice, sweet person that I am told him that I was not going to pay more for the green shirt and that I had just waited twice in line to pay more for this shirt and had just waisted a half hour of my time. I want my pink shirt back. He checked the price on both shirts and said they were both $8.99. Of course I left my receipt home. There was a fellow that I knew waiting patiently for me to get finished. He was holding a huge Persian rug. I kept apoligizing, etc. The clerk said that he would have to return the money for the pink shirt, give me a gift card for the green shirt, and purchase the green shirt with the gift card. By this time I was so confused and think he was too. Then the cash register wouldn't work and he had to call the store manager, etc. I kept on apologizing to the couple behind me. I don't know how this worked but he gave me a receipt for $9.48 for the purchase of the green shirt and then gave me a receipt for $5.99 and told me that I had a $3.20 credit on my gift card. I can now take back the green shirt for $9.48 and use my $3.20 credit card and basically buy me a new shirt for nothing. If you can figure this out you are doing better than me. Of course, my husband was waiting, not patiently, in the car wondering what on earth had happened to me. Only me.
Friday
This weekend definitely was interesting. I spent Friday at a 5 hour seminar on copyright laws. I was sad to learn that we should have not shown our Richard Simmon's exercise tape for the lunch crowd. To watch those teenage boys exercise to Richard Simmon's was great. We will not do it again unfortunately. It was funny because right after that they all saw Richard Simmon on a commercial. They wouldn't have known who he was if it wasn't for us crazy librarians. I was also sad to know that you will never be able to watch my Dancing Queen video of me and the dogs. It is against copy right laws to use that music. I thought it was pretty cool. I had all the dogs chasing me through the house with me dancing to the music. I am so sorry that you won't be able to witness such a great movie. I know that you are all disappointed. I know I can plead complete stupidity on a lot of the copyright laws that I have broken, but now how can I. I was starting to have restless leg syndrome, I can't sit here any longer, etc. I did leave early but it was a great seminar.
