Can you believe it?

I went to the credit union to withdraw some money. There were four cars by the window and about three cars at the third tube stall. There was no one in the second stall so of course I pulled right up there. I put my card in the tube and sent it on its way. I waited and waited but nothing happened. I looked up and there was a girl explaining to me that my card in the tube was stuck and that the clerk at the window couldn't talk to me because of it. I had to go into the building. They promised that they would shred my card and they gave me a new one. Only me.

Only Me

I went shopping with my sister last week and bought an exercise top at a store in a city where I didn't live. My sister and I both purchased one. I paid $5.99 for the top. I decided that it was too big and I wanted a smaller size. This should be easy, right. Well here goes. I took my pink, too large, top to the the same store only in a different city. I waited at the service desk at this store for the clerk (only one clerk) to help two others in front of me. I explained that I just wanted to exchange the top for a different size. I looked and found the top I wanted. Of course they didn't have a pink one only green in the size I wanted. I went back over to the service desk. There was a lady in front of me who had bought her I don't know fifteen grandchildren pajamas and got all the wrong sizes. Needless to say she had to return all of those, purchase all new ones, have her receipt stapled, etc. etc. It was a long wait. As I got up to the clerk I noticed that the price of the exchange shirt was for $8.99. I showed it to the clerk and he said that I would have to pay the higher price. Being the polite, nice, sweet person that I am told him that I was not going to pay more for the green shirt and that I had just waited twice in line to pay more for this shirt and had just waisted a half hour of my time. I want my pink shirt back. He checked the price on both shirts and said they were both $8.99. Of course I left my receipt home. There was a fellow that I knew waiting patiently for me to get finished. He was holding a huge Persian rug. I kept apoligizing, etc. The clerk said that he would have to return the money for the pink shirt, give me a gift card for the green shirt, and purchase the green shirt with the gift card. By this time I was so confused and think he was too. Then the cash register wouldn't work and he had to call the store manager, etc. I kept on apologizing to the couple behind me. I don't know how this worked but he gave me a receipt for $9.48 for the purchase of the green shirt and then gave me a receipt for $5.99 and told me that I had a $3.20 credit on my gift card. I can now take back the green shirt for $9.48 and use my $3.20 credit card and basically buy me a new shirt for nothing. If you can figure this out you are doing better than me. Of course, my husband was waiting, not patiently, in the car wondering what on earth had happened to me. Only me.

Friday

This weekend definitely was interesting. I spent Friday at a 5 hour seminar on copyright laws. I was sad to learn that we should have not shown our Richard Simmon's exercise tape for the lunch crowd. To watch those teenage boys exercise to Richard Simmon's was great. We will not do it again unfortunately. It was funny because right after that they all saw Richard Simmon on a commercial. They wouldn't have known who he was if it wasn't for us crazy librarians. I was also sad to know that you will never be able to watch my Dancing Queen video of me and the dogs. It is against copy right laws to use that music. I thought it was pretty cool. I had all the dogs chasing me through the house with me dancing to the music. I am so sorry that you won't be able to witness such a great movie. I know that you are all disappointed. I know I can plead complete stupidity on a lot of the copyright laws that I have broken, but now how can I. I was starting to have restless leg syndrome, I can't sit here any longer, etc. I did leave early but it was a great seminar.

Busy Day

Things have been really busy as always. Today I spent at the district media center taking a course on Mac OSX and Alexandria. I got to meet some new people and they invited me to go the lunch with them. It was really pretty fun. I hope that I can remember what I learned today. This weekend my daughter and I spent fixing a dinner for Halloween. We had fun making a spiderweb cheesecake. It turned out great. The only problem was it had lots of calories in it. I did find out that I am not Martha Stewart. The recipe was from her magazine. I think that we had every pan in the house dirty. We thought it would be easy because it was a no bake cheesecake. Boy were we wrong. It reminded me of my wonderful grandmother. When I would stay with her I spent the entire day doing dishes. She was a great cook but boy could she make a mess. We had Brendon, Britney, Brookly and Carson over for dinner. It was really nice. Good night. I have done all that I can do for today.

Camper

My daughter set this up for me and kind of convinced me that I need to start blogging. My life is not the most exciting but every now and then something unique happens. My husband and I just bought a camper so we can take it and go four wheeling. We already have a fifth wheel trailer. We also have two four wheelers and a utility trailer for them. The only problem is we do not have any place to store all this stuff. We need to live out in the sticks some where. I am certain that my neighbors really love me. We must be crazy is all that I can think of. We had campers long ago when our children were little. We went to trailers because the campers were too crowded. We went to Yellowstone and the kids saw some red paint on the outdoor bathrooms. They were comvinced that it was blood and that someone had been attacked by a bear. They would not move out of that camper that entire trip and I thought I'd go crazy. So after many campers, trailers, and two fifth wheels we are back to a camper again. The funny thing is my husband and I are both really excited about it. With this camper we can go places that we haven't been able to go for a very long time. We'll see what happens. Maybe we can have some great vacations. It has really been interesting all the people that we met while looking for a camper. Many that I felt really sorry for. If I thought that I had it tough, boy was I wrong. We met people who were laid off, kidney failure, diabetes, bad backs, etc. They were all really nice. I am so grateful that my husband and I are still able to get around and do some crazy things before our time is up.
